 Abstract

The purpose of this study was to developing the competency model for health staff  in Health Science Center , Burapha university by Participatory Action Research .The samples consisted of health staff 286 persons who had operated  competency model processes and volunteered to join this program. The samples were purposive selected and trained to be key persons developed competency model of Health Science Center. Three steps to study were 1) Situation and problem analysis of personal competency in Health Science Center  2) Development health science center competency model 3) Implementation and Evaluation model utilization. The instruments was semi-structural interview HSC-competency model users in several topics namely; benefit, appropriation, accomplishment and satisfaction. The data were analyzed by using content analysis.

The results revealed that Health Science Center has 5 core competencies (achievement motivation, service mind , expertise , Integrity and teamwork) , 4 common competencies (leadership , English literacy , IT knowledge for hospital system program and computer literacy). Specific competencies were set by job specification, professional qualification and special need in each position in four departments of health Science Center; Administrative department (23 specific competencies) , Academic and research(19 specific competencies)  , Academic service(11 specific competencies)  and University hospital (53 specific competencies). Tips of model implementation were 1) Communication (Knowledge, Practice and Attitude) 2) Participation (Plan , Decision making and Action) 3) Commitment 4) Consultant system and Responsibility    5) Policy setting. The evaluated model utilizing found that 89.34 percentage of health staff were participation and the most gap between expectation and practice of core competency was integrity, common competency was English literacy and the satisfaction of model using was in high level even user felt reliable in expectation setting  and qualification of auditor. The most suggestion was should be developing computer program for using model easily.

TITLE : QUALITY OF SLEEP AND FACTORS DISTURBING SLEEP IN CHRONIC HEMODIALYSIS PATIENTS IN GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS, CHONBURI PROVINCE . 147 pp. 2007 ISBN 978-974-384-363-1

KEYWORDS: SLEEP/QUALITY OF SLEEP/FACTORS DISTURBING SLEEP/CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE , CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE/END-STAGE RENAL DISEASE

YEAR : 2006

ABSTRACT

The purposes of this research were to study relationships between the quality of sleep, factors disturbing sleep among the chronic hemodialysis patients in government hospitals, Chonburi province. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 90 subjects during April to June 2007. The research instruments used for data collection were interview form of 3 parts : the Demographic Data Record and Health Data Record form, The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) by Tawanchai Jirapramukpitak  and Waran Tanchaiswad (1997) with using Test-retest reliabilities method the value of coefficient of stability is .85, the Factors Disturbing Sleep Assessment Form developed by the researcher which approved by the panel of experts with the values of interrater agreement of .81 and the values of content validilty index obtained .81. The reliability of the assessment form were obtained by Cronbach’ s alpha coefficient with the value of .87. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze data in term of frequency , percentage, mean and standard deviation. Since the Quality of sleep (PSQI score) was not normal distribution curve, Sperman’s rank correlation was used to analyze the data.

The major findings were as follows:

1. There were 62.2 % of subjects having a poor quality of sleep and the rest of them,37.8 % had good quality of sleep were classificated by The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) criteria.

2. The various factor disturbing sleep at the most for physical domain was body pain , for psychosocial domain was depression and boring mood, and environmental domain was temperature, too hot or cool in sleeping area .

3. The physical domain of factor disturbing sleep influences was positively related as moderate level to PSQI score , environmental domain was positively related as low level to PSQI score with the Spearman’s rank correlation coefficients of .389 and .260, respectively(p<.01). the environmental domain of factor disturbing sleep influences was positively related as low level to PSQI score with the Sperman’s rank correlation coefficients of .205 (p<.05) ( PSQI score too high is meaning to poor quality of sleep).

Title :  Home-made Slab for Immobilization

Researcher : Piraporn Bootnan

Year : 2006

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the effectiveness of the Home-made Slab for immobilization when compare with Ready Slab in laboratory 5 dimensions: time of slab to solidify, loss of gypsum after to dip in water, weight of slab after stiff, heat of slab after to dip in water and strength to against of slab after stiff. In volunteer 2 dimensions: side effect of skin at time to contact with slab and satisfaction of customer to put on slab. In 10 officer at University Hospital, Health Science Center, Burapha University by Purposive sampling.Through to trial put on slab 2 type. One of 48 hours through to put out at time to trial. The data were analyzed by using mean, percentage, standard deviation and T-test. The results of this study were found: Home-made Slab had less time of solidify, weight after stiff, strength to against and customer’s satisfaction than Ready Slab no statistically significance different at .05 level. Home-made Slab had more loss of gypsum after to dip in water, heat after to dip in water and side effect of skin at time to contact than Ready Slab no statistically significance different at .05 level.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop the model of Professional Practice study in Practicum of Health Care in Community 1 by nurse preceptor at accident and emergency department of Health Science Center Burapha University Hospital and effective of model using. Three steps of study were developing, implement and evaluation model. The study comprised of 17 nursing students who learn practicum of Health Care in Community 1 and practice at accident and emergency department of Health Science Center and 9 nurse preceptors in ER. Tools of  this study were  4 questionnaire ; perspective of nurse preceptor who used  model, satisfaction of  students , pre-post test and guideline for evaluation capability of students. Statistics employed were percentage, mean , standard deviation and t-test.

            It was found that

1.      The comparison of cognitive domain in this practicum , nursing students’ self-perception for readiness and skill between pre-post practical at accident and emergency department of Health Science Center Burapha University was statistical significant at .01

2.      The satisfaction of nursing students in model of professional practice study in practicum of health care in community 1 by nurse preceptor was in high level. The most satisfaction in supportive factors for instruction. The relationship between doctor and nursing students was the most satisfaction , while , duration for practice was the lowest satisfaction.
